Senior Python Engineer (Fast API, MongoDB)Cardiff - UK Remote Working£60-70kMy client cannot offer Visa Sponsorship for this role of any sort. Your new companyI am supporting a scale-up financial services disrupter that is investing heavily into it's Engineering function and are now hiring their first native Python Engineers as they move from off the shelf solutions to bespoke in-house platforms. This is a business going through genuine transformation, with engineering at the heart of its roadmap. This role is offered UK Remote, with quarterly company meetups in their Cardiff office.Your new roleYou'll join a high performing cross functional product environment where modern engineering practices, automation and quality discipline underpin everything they deliver. They've moved beyond the start up chaos, have real customers and revenue and it's all about finding the right Engineers with drive/hunger to join them. What tends to excite engineers about this opportunity is the impact and greenfield potential. You're not joining a huge corporate where your code disappears into the ether. You'll be helping shape systems that are central to how the business operates, influencing technical direction, standards and ways of working as the platform evolves. It's a clean, services led architecture and they are Agile throughout. Move fast, break things, communicate, learn and solve problems is the mandate so whilst Financial Services experience is a bonus, they aren't looking to hire from traditional corporate/enterprise teams that have been dictated to. What you'll need to succeedWe're looking for a Senior Back End Engineer, 5+ years Python supported by FastAPI and MongoDB.A solid grounding in modern system architecture and design patterns. Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous workflows and event driven design. Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases. Experience building and consuming APIs at scale and familiarity with CI/CD, containerisation and DevOps aligned workflows.Although the role is primarily backend, there may be opportunities to contribute to light touch front end work (e.g. React) when APIs or integration points require it. What you'll get in returnYou'll join a growing organisation where engineering is respected and investment in technology is ongoing. You can expect a strong pension scheme, UK remote working, a big emphasis on paid training/development and a genuine career pathway into leadership as the company scale. What you need to do nowAt Hays Technology, we understand the importance of modern engineering talent in driving transformation. If you're looking to work with a forward thinking organisation building scalable internal platforms, then I'd like to hear from you.To find out more and to be considered for this position, please apply directly or contact Max Wilcock, Senior Business Director, on .
