The washed out weekend lead to sport pitches around Penarth being closed due to waterlogged grounds.

Nub News usually provides the weekly roundup of Penarth's local sporting groups on Tuesday.

However, due to heavy rain and weather warnings over the weekend the games were unable to go ahead.

The games have been postponed or rearranged for this coming weekend.

All the Vale of Glamorgan pitches were off and so Saturday fixtures couldn't be played across the area.

The fixtures for next weekend will be going ahead (19th of October) and can be found below.

Rugby:

  • Old Pens RFC will play Tonyrefail RFC at 2:30pm at home.
  • Penarth RFC will play Tylorstown at 2:30pm at home.

Football:

  • Cogan Coronation will play Tynewydd at 2:00 pm at home.
  • Penarth Town will play the Aber Wanderers in the third round of South Wales FA cup. This game replaces last weekend's game due to the loss of pitches.
• Penarth Town B will play at Cadoxton Barry away at 2:00pm.
