In a Heartbeat

Choral concert with delicious interval Cream Tea in aid of Calon Hearts.

Words and music on the fleeting nature of time and the enduring power of love. With a finger firmly on the pulse of contemporary choral music, Spectrum Singers infuses its programme with modern settings of ancient texts such as Eleanor Daley's gorgeous 'Upon Your Heart', coming bang up to date with JVKE's viral TikTok hit 'Golden Hour, which captures the heady feeling of falling in love.

The choir will set your hearts racing with an electrifying a cappella arrangement of 'Bohemian Rhapsody', tug on your heartstrings with nostalgia for Beeching's vanished branch lines in Flanders & Swann's 'The Slow Train, and prove an ear can break a human heart in the achingly beautiful 'The Saddest Noise' by Grammy winner Christopher Tin.

Embracing the human condition, we celebrate our capacity to find beauty, meaning, and connection in the short time and agree with the poet Philip Larking: 'What will survive of us is love.'
