Cause for concern and call for independent Glebe Field inquiry

Grave concerns have been expressed about the process relating to the inquiry into the proposal to accord the Glebe Fields Sully, Village Green status.
Plaid Councillors are very unhappy about the course of action.
Cllr Chris Franks said: "The Public Protection Committee agreed to create an inquiry and to appoint an independent chair.
"We asked the council how it could select an independent when at the same time having objected to the granting of Village Green Status.
"Then there is the impression in the minds of the public that no such selected person could be regarded as independent. I also do not understand who will appoint the members of the inquiry.
"Surely there must be a way to overcome this appearance of bias?
"Is it not possible to identify an outside organisation to manage this situation that is acceptable to all concerned?
"The current course of action will not enhance the reputation of the Vale Council."
