Join acclaimed art history lecturer, Stella Grace Lyons for this fascinating glimpse into the secret language of flowers in art.

Over the centuries artists have painted flowers not just for their vibrant colours and intrinsic beauty but for their hidden meanings.

Flowers have been used in paintings to illuminate divine mysteries and communicate messages from love and desire to innocence, purity and even death.

This talk explores the symbolism of flowers in art and how it has evolved over the years.

We will look at a range of paintings, with a particular focus on works from the Renaissance period and the 19th Century.
