Payroll Administrator - Cardiff - 6 Months

An established organisation in Cardiff is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their people team on a minimum 6-month contract, with the potential to be extended.This role is ideal for someone looking for part-time hours (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday), but we're open full-time for the right candidate. It comes with a welcoming and well-equipped modern office, alongside internal career development opportunities.Why this role? You'll be the go-to for payroll queries, supporting smooth processing across starters, leavers, benefits, pensions and statutory compliance.   • Processing starters, leavers, and contract changes in the payroll system
  • Managing statutory payments like SMP and SPP, liaising with legal and HR teams
  • Handling pension enrolments and reconciliations
  • Responding to payroll queries with accuracy and professionalism
  • Collaborating with People Services to refine processes and document improvements
  • Supporting monthly reporting, audits and system updates
Who we're looking for
  • Strong understanding of PAYE, NIC, tax codes and payroll compliance
  • Experience with payroll and HR systems (Access, Indigo, or similar)
  • Excel skills
  • Sharp attention to detail, great communication and calm under pressure
