Vale of Glamorgan Council's Family Information Service (FIS) Team spread some Christmas cheer earlier this month as they hosted two Christmas parties for families in the Vale on December 6.

More than 700 children, parents, and carers attended the free events at the Memo Arts Centre, Barry, taking part in several festive activities organised by a number of service providers who operate across the Vale.

Organisations such as the Play and Sports Development Team, Dewis Cymru, Early Help Team, Flying Start, Mudiad Meithrin, Communities for Work Plus and many more supported the event and engaged with families about their services, whilst offering some lovely Christmas activities.

Children had the chance to meet Father Christmas, as well as watching dance performances from two local dance groups: Razzle Dazzle Dance, and Bliss Dance. Younger children also participated in a Welsh Language singalong with Mudiad Meithrin.

Kely Fenton, Outreach and Information Officer for the FIS Team who also organised the events, said: "Feedback from parents and providers has been incredibly positive.

"It was so lovely to see so many families getting into the Christmas spirit and have the opportunity to find out more about the services which are available to them, whilst also having a great festive time with their children."

The FIS connects families to services and support, including childcare, help with childcare costs, family support services, and activities for children and young people.
