Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and chances to work with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.A little more about your role As a Project Manager, you will be pivotal in delivering civil engineering projects primarily within the Scheme Delivery Framework contract for National Highways. You will lead project delivery teams, using your knowledge and skills to ensure adherence to quality, time and budget requirements. Below is what you could expect to be doing on a daily and weekly basis.
- Leadership of teams delivering design & professional services projects for UK transport infrastructure projects.
- Preparing key documentation including the co-ordination procedure, project plan, safety plan and other governance material.
- Engagement and day to day liaison with Client project leadership team.
- Developing a clear project pricing submission and project schedule and client instruction to proceed reflecting this.
- Embedding the project delivery strategy to drive successful delivery and commercial performance, ensuring Key Performance Indicators are achieved.
- Co-ordinating with the client's technical disciplines to manage the timely receipt of information
- Administering the Contract including change management
- Engaging with project teams and the wider WSP business to manage resource demands.
- Preparing monthly reports to support Client and internal reporting requirements.
- Driving compliance with WSPs procedures.
- Creating a supportive and positive project environment where people can develop and grow.
- Supporting compliance with WSP's procedures and standards.
- Contributing to creating a supportive and positive project environment conducive to personal and professional development.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management and/or APM PMQ / Prince2 Practitioner qualified or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience of successful team management, planning, and contract administration (preferable NEC3 and NEC4).
- Demonstrable experience of successful project budget management and ability to understand and interpret commercial and financial landscapes (budgets, forecasts, actual status).
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to engaging with others.
- A self-motivated approach to working and are comfortable acting on your own initiative with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience of managing ambiguity in a project environment with strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- A high standard of organisation and time management
