Veygo's culture is vibrant, open, creative, and disruptive.What you'll be doingAll of our engineers are truly full-stack: we do everything we can to make sure our engineers are able to work on anything, and everything. A typical day in engineering can mean creating infrastructure using Terraform, debugging the inner-workings of one of our Python applications or writing a shiny new React component for use in our quote engine.Our pace is fast and the days are varied, but the work is energetic and very rewarding. Expect to collaborate with other departments across the brand from marketing to customer service, and data to claims.Main DutiesDevelop backend services, using Python and DjangoBuild Infrastructure, using Terraform and cloud services such as AWSDeploy your code to production and support itDesign REST APIsDevelop modern front-end websites, using TypeScript, React and ReduxChampion best practices like automated testing and continuous deploymentShare knowledge by pair programming, show and tell sessionsActively contribute across ideation to release in empowered agile teamsContributing towards the empowerment of delivery teams, from product ideation to live release with continuous improvementWho you areTake a proactive approach to getting things done in a fast-moving scale-up environmentCares deeply about creating exceptional customer experiencesWorks best in highly agile, CI/CD environmentsPrides themselves on code craft and qualityHas multiple years of production experience of full-stack or backend engineeringEnjoys pair programming, collaborating and mentoringA curious mindset, eager to learn with the ability to breakdown and solve problemsPlease note: this is a hybrid role based in our Cardiff office once-twice a week.Salary, Benefits and Work-Life BalanceAt Admiral, we are proud to be a diverse business where we put our people and customers first.
