The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior to Principal Civil Engineer, with a focus on project delivery and leadership in wastewater/stormwater, to enhance our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about rivers and the whole environment from source to sea, from mountain to city. We specialise in delivering innovative solutions on both a local and catchment scale, founded on nature-based systems and novel, low carbon technology. You will be joining a technical delivery team working on a wide variety of projects of global and national importance. These include wastewater and stormwater catchment studies (including WINEP/NEP and SOAF), nature-based regenerative solutions of all kinds, flood risk and river health analysis, civil structures, wastewater and stormwater treatment, and environmental flood mitigation projects across our client frameworks. Arup provide high level advisory / strategic thinking in the water and environment sector, we deliver detailed design services, we provide construction supervision, and technical advice on asset health. We invest in our own bespoke research every year, often working in partnerships, to develop our knowledge and digital tools. We're looking for a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer with curiosity, personal drive and technical knowhow. You will be as inspired as we are by the problems we are solving and excited to be part of the team delivering the solutions. You will lead projects, work closely with our clients, and lead, support and develop a team of junior engineers, modellers and scientists around you. We would like to speak with people who have experience in the following areas:
- Wastewater solutions in networks and/or treatment facilities/Concept and detailed design of stormwater drainage and SuDS solutions /Delivering flood risk assessments, assessing catchment risks and developing solutions at the strategic, concept and detailed level.
- Overseeing and working with multi-discipline teams including specialists such as process engineers, MEICA, placemaknig and hydraulic modellers Background in engineering, with the ability to develop, lead, manage and deliver successful projects working collaboratively with our clients and internal teams
- Ability to develop and present robust, evidence based business cases for infrastructure investment
- Knowledge in managing data analytics; understand how we manage data, analyse it, create insight and help ensure we present meaningful results to clients which can inform decisions.
- Hold a recognised engineering professional qualification, or be very close to achieving one.
