The Role:

The post holder is responsible for the administrative, reception and general housing duties at the temporary accommodation facility. To provide short-term advice and assistance to homeless service users and to asses the support needs of service users and arrange necessary general counselling and support.

For the level and scope of duties at each grade to be specified in a separate career progression document

1. To provide administrative support to the Hostels & Support Services Manager as required.

2. To liaise with Temporary Accommodation and the landlord to ensure that processes are followed when signing up residents and managing their occupancy agreement

3. To provide a point of contact, advice, assistance and support for Council related enquiries from residents of the Temporary Accommodation and to use this contact to identify support needs and submit referrals to the Tenant Support Scheme as appropriate.

4. To refer service users to other services in accordance with identified need.

The Candidate:

Demonstrates a good level of numeracy and literacy

A demonstrable commitment to personal development relevant to this role

Experience of working closely with customers.

Experience of administrative and financial duties in a work place environment.

Demonstrates the ability to communicate well in a manner appropriate to individual needs, by phone in person or in writing.

Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team, showing a willingness to assist others and a commitment to meeting the objectives of the team.

A good level of computer literacy.
