Why not join the happy bunch and get in good voice? Penarth Community Choir is about to start singing again

By Nub News Reporter 28th Aug 2022

Members of the Penarth Community Choir are getting ready to resume their weekly rehearsals after a summer break.

And members hope they will be joined by newcomers to join their happy bunch.

The choir's Lynne Milligan says: "Not only is singing and being part of a social group great for overall wellbeing, the choir also raises money through its concert programme for good causes, mainly benefitting the Penarth area."

The choir rehearses weekly on a Monday evening from 7-9pm in the Penarth Ex-Servicemen's Club at 69 Windsor Road, Penarth, CF64 1JE

Concerts typically take place at key celebration points in the calendar, such as Easter, summer and Christmas. Concerts showcase an eclectic range from choral pieces and hymns, to popular songs and showtunes. Check out the choir's Facebook page.

The autumn term will start on Monday, 12 September, running until 12 December with a break for half-term on 31 October. Rehearsal fees are £5 each ((£4 for those on benefits), so £65 (£52) for the 13 week term.

If you can hold a tune and are interested in joining the choir, email Lynne on [email protected] or just attend the first rehearsal of the new term on Monday 12 September. The choir welcomes new members throughout the year who then rehearse with us for the next planned concert.
