Last Saturday [25 September] night, the railway bridge at Eastbrook train station in Dinas Powys was removed.

The removal is part of wider refurbishment work at the station, which has seen the car park closed until Saturday 9 October.

The current target date to reinstall the bridge is Sunday 3 October.

The A4050 Cardiff Road at East Brook Station was closed overnight on 25 September, for Network Rail to remove the existing footbridge at the station.

The station has remained open for passengers since the closure began on 9 August, and Transport For Wales has released a new walking route for passengers to access the trains.

In a letter to residents nearby, Network Rail explained that it would try to keep disruption to a minimum:

"Our teams are aware that they are working close to your home and try to minimise disruption as much as possible, but we apologise in advance if you are disturbed during these works."
