The car park and footbridge at Dinas Powys' Eastbrook train station will be closed until Saturday 9 October while Network Rail can complete refurbishment work safely.

The station will remain open for passengers during the closure, which began on August 9, and Transport For Wales has released a new walking route for passengers to access the trains.

Network Rail is completing refurbishment work on the footbridge and platform area of Eastbrook Train Station, removing the footbridge last week. The current target date to reinstall the bridge is 3 October.

Part of Cardiff Road, the A4055 through Dinas, between, as the Merrie Harrier Junction and Barry Docks Link Road, will be closed overnight between 9pm and 9am, on both 21-22nd August and 2-3 October to remove and replace the bridge.

In a letter to residents nearby, Network Rail explained that it would try to keep disruption to a minimum:

"Our teams are aware that they are working close to your home and try to minimise disruption as much as possible, but we apologise in advance if you are disturbed during these works."
