Dinas Powys community councillors have finalised plans for VE Day – Thursday, 8 May (10:45 for 11am).

There will be a short service on the Twyn.

Children from Ysgol Pen y Garth, St Andrews Church in Wales and Dinas Powys Primary Schools will be attending. DP Women's Institute have agreed to help serve refreshments in the Parish Hall.

An information pamphlet produced by the Community Council about VE Day in Dinas Powys has been especially published for the school children.

Cllr Chris Franks said that the Community Council considered that it was important to arrange an event to mark such an important day, saying: "We warmly invite residents to support the ceremony."
