Club expecting another bumper event

More than 1,000 people are expected to be dancing on the grass when Penarth's Music and Street Food Festival returns at the town centre Penarth Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday, 24 May.
"We're planning for another amazing day," said organiser Al Cozens.
"We've got new bands, and some new food stalls – as well as some improvements to the site layout.
"It's always a sellout so we expect around 1,300 people will come along to enjoy the party."
But he warned that many of the tickets have already been snapped up by the club's 600-strong membership, and the remaining tickets normally sell out quickly.
"We have a restricted site so we can't make more tickets available. When they're gone, they're gone, and there is absolutely no way anyone can buy a ticket on the door," he said.
The event – which runs from lunchtime until early evening – features a huge range of music – from acoustic performances to punk and pop. It will raise money for the club and for its nominated charities.
"There's a massive variety of music. We're hoping there's going to be something to get everyone on the dancefloor," said Mr Cozens.
The festival will be headlined by local punk-to-pop band The Shameless, who will be covering bands ranging from Oasis to The Buzzcocks on the Penarth stage.
Other acts include Chris Kelly – former front man of The Scooters – who will perform an acoustic set, and Dansette, who are sure to fill the floor with their 60s soul standards.
The music starts at 1pm with acoustic jazz, blues and ska from Cardiff duo Bella Collins and Gareth Evans, and they will be followed by local indie newcomers Dear Strangers.
On the food front there are a record-breaking seven vendors.
Newcomers to the festival include High Steaks – with some amazing steak sandwiches – and For Mice and Men, who take the cheese toastie to the next level. Cegin will be at the festival too with their top-class Indian cuisine.
The festival will be welcoming back some old favourites too. The Bearded Taco will return with their Mexican delights while the Welsh Italian Pizza Company will bring back their wood fired oven.
For dessert there are incredible cookies from Famished Bakehouse, all washed down with teas and coffees from Penarth's own Life of Reilly.
The club is bringing in extra bars and professional bar staff to cope with demand on the day.
There will also be a Pimm's stall run by club volunteers raising money for club charities, The Welsh Air Ambulance and the MS Society UK.
Club chairman Martin Radford said: "It's an amazing lineup of food and music, all organised by our incredible team of volunteers.
"We're expecting another sell-out and we're hoping that the sun shines for another year."
