There's still no sign of temporary pedestrian lights at Cardiff Road/Elmgrove Road, Dinas Powys.
The existing lights are defective and have been switched off. Local Plaid community councillor Chris Franks said, "Apparently there is an electrical fault that could put people at risk.
"The lights are dated and should have been replaced by the Vale Council. It makes you think about what other council equipment is sub standard or worse.
"We are calling on the Vale to give this issue top priority."
Along the whole length of Cardiff Road there appears to be more problems with inconsiderate driving. We really do need the Vale Council and the police to more proactive in the area."
Fellow councillor Keith Hatton said that the situation was very unsatisfactory. He urged motorists to take extra care at this location. There's a serious need for urgent action before something terrible occurs.
The lights had been demolished a few weeks ago by a late night crash and only been recently repaired. This area is plagued by speeding traffic. Motorist frequently jump red lights and put pedestrians at risk.
