RNLI Penarth is holding a fundraising coffee morning in Penarth Yacht Club on Saturday, 29 October from 10.30am to 12 noon.

Tickets to the event will cost £1, with all funds raised going to help the lifesaving work of RNLI Penarth. As well as a selection of cakes available to buy, there will be a fundraising book sale on the morning.

Penarth's lifeboat crew have responded to six callouts over the last month, which included assisting a vessel taking on water, going to the aid of people cut off by the tide, and taking part in a search for a missing person. They also helped a yacht stuck on a sandbank.

Sara Siddall, secretary of RNLI Penarth fundraising committee, said: "The coffee morning is always a popular event, and we're looking forward to welcoming everybody on the day.

"It will be a great chance to get together and enjoy coffee and a chat, while supporting RNLI Penarth's volunteer crew to continue saving lives at sea."
