Residents in Alexandra Court are complaining that the lights along the Dolly Steps path to the Esplanade have been out of action for over a year.

One has provided pictures of the lights which should make the steps and paths alongside the edge of the park safe, but don't due to the lack of repair.

Residents have complained that the Vale Council has yet to attend to the lighting along the whole length of Beach Road making evening and night time journeys between the town and Esplanade dangerous, especially with the leaf fall and fireworks season upon us.

The community has written into complain about the issues but they are yet to be fixed.

Nub News contact the Vale council for a comment. A spokesperson said: ''These areas have been inspected and arrangements made to carry out repairs, though there may be a delay addressing issues with some of the older lighting columns in Alexandra Park, which are more complicated.''
