THERE was a good turn out on the Twyn for Remembrance Sunday (9 November).
Around 30 organisations laid wreaths. Dinas Powys Community Council thanked all who attended.
The council organised the event but could not have managed with out the active support of many. This includes the Football Club, the Baptist Church, Scouts and Girl Guides.
The names of the fallen in both world wars were read out.
Over 300 men and several women nurses from Dinas Powys served in 1914 -19. A considerable number served in 1939 - 46. Many were injured. William Oliver of the Murch at 14 was the youngest to die with James Oswald of Eastbrook aged 66 the oldest.
The Baptist Church provided refreshments after the service in the Parish Hall.
Councillor Jon Cowpe, chair, laid tributes on behalf of the community.
