An agreement has been reached and Penarth's Poppy appeal caravan will be staying in its normal place this year.

Penarth Nub News reported on the disappointment of poppy sellers after they believed they had been told to move their caravan from its normal position in the town in the build up to Remembrance Sunday.

However, a spokesperson for Vale of Glamorgan Council says it has been a misunderstadning and the cravan can saty.

She said: "The Council is proud to support the Poppy Appeal across the Vale of Glamorgan.

"There has been a simple misunderstanding regarding the location of the Appeal's caravan in Penarth.

"An alternative location was agreed with organisers a number of weeks ago.

"However, we are happy to confirm that the caravan can remain in its current location for this year. We wish the Appeal and all of the volunteers every success."
