The Pickford's Galley Bar and Restaraunt on Penarth's Esplanade have been busy supplying key workers with tasty meals and now they have announced their reopening.

They said: "After dedicating the past weeks mostly to charity work, serving close to 1000 meals to the local community, we are expanding our takeaway business.

"We are now serving hot and cold drinks as well as meals to take out straight from our front door on the sea front.

"We have just completed our Covid-19 safety measures on our premises and are looking forward to start welcoming our customers back while adhering to the Welsh government guidelines. Please check the video attached.

"We will be serving drinks and food :

12 - 6 Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

12 - 4 on Sundays (Sunday lunches available pre orders only)

The team have spoken to the licensing department and are following their guidelines regarding serving takeaway drinks especially alcohol.

They have outlined the following rules to purchase:

  • Please bring ID if you look under 25
  • the drinks will have lids on and should not be consumed until you have left the vicinity.
  • We cannot serve you more than a few drinks at a time or serve large groups.
  • We cannot serve you if you are sitting around the outside of the premises or opposite on the Esplanade or beach.

They said: "We want this to be a treat for you whilst out and about on your walks or picking up your take away.

"If we do not follow these guidelines, the licensing department has the right to stop us serving drinks altogether. Please do not spoil this for everyone else.

"We look forward to welcoming you again and hope you enjoy our takeaways, stay safe everyone."
