Penarth RNLI aided the Barry Dock team with a late-night rescue yesterday evening.

Barry's volunteer crew launched to a broken down 26-foot fishing boat located between Flat Holm and Steep Holm.

A tow line was passed to the vessel and it was towed to Cardiff Bay.

RNLI Penarth Lifeboat Station said: ''Shortly before 10 pm this evening we were launched to assist Barry Dock lifeboat with a boat tow. Our smaller D class lifeboat picked up the casualty vessel and towed it into the safety of Cardiff bay. All activities were carried out with suitable COVID arrangements in place."

Barry Dock Lifeboat returned to Barry harbour at 10.30 pm and the crew prepared the boat ready for their next shout.
