A number of reports have been circulating of large groups of youths, parties, litter problems and more at Cosmeston Country Park and so patrols have now been taking place today to monitor the problems.

Vale Council Enforcement said: ''Enforcement Officers and colleagues from South Wales Police Vale of Glamorgan have been patrolling Cosmeston Country Park this afternoon, following concerns of antisocial behaviour and littering there.

''A number of people have been spoken with and the situation is being monitored."

Reports of people jumping into the water from bridges and park wardens facing issues enforcing the rules of lockdown have contributed to the need for police and officer presence.

Images of the closed play area have also been posted on social media.

Yesterday, Nub News reported on the problems of rubbish associated with larger numbers of visitors at Cosmeston which can be read here.
