James Calado, the Penarth based Formula E driver, will be competing on a virtual track tomorrow as he plays in the Race at Home Challenge.
Formula E has partnered with UNICEF to support the global coronavirus appeal as sporting events across the world are postponed in response to the pandemic.
James started his career in karts in 1999, then James Calado went on to compete against some of the biggest names in motorsports including Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne and Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas throughout his career.
In 2017, he became the WEC GTE Pro champion and two years later took victory in the GTE Pro class at the Le Mans 24 hours.
Now based in Penarth, Wales, Calado will call on his single-seater experience to challenge for the title in the sixth season of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.
Getting behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-Type 4 for the first time in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, the rookie partners Mitch Evans in the battle for the championship title.
Formula E is a single-seater motorsport championship that uses only electric cars.
ABB Formula E said: ''We're entering the esports world with a nine-week competition featuring teams and drivers from the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, as well as a selection of top gamers.
''Fans will be able to watch two races live each weekend, as drivers and gamers compete separately on famous Formula E tracks from the safety of their own homes.
''Donations from the competition will be directed by UNICEF to comprehensive emergency projects around the world during the coronavirus crisis.''
BBC Sport confirmed they will be live streaming the races all weekend across various platforms.
It starts from a virtual Honk Kong harbour on Saturday.

The first round of the Race at Home Challenge will take place on Saturday.
This marks the start of the eight-round series that leads into a double-header starting the Saturday 6th June, with double points on offer in the Grand Final taking place on Sunday 7th June.
First debuted in the test round, the Race Royale format has been shaken up for the official races, as the drivers will now be eliminated from the second lap and will run until only 12 drivers remain.
With points only on offer for the top 10 positions, the surviving drivers will be left in a dramatic two-lap showdown to end the race, with both the front and back of the field fighting for points. Combined with the damage settings rising to 80%, this will give the drivers an extra challenge going forward.
