Penarth Marina has been awarded Blue Flag status along with two other marinas and 22 beaches across Wales.

The marina has been recognised by Keep Wales Tidy and the organisation's Wales Coast Awards for maintaining environmental standards and achieving water quality targets.

Leslie Jones, chief executive at Keep Wales Tidy, said: "We are lucky to have some of the world's best beaches and marinas on our doorstep.

"The success is a testament to everyone who has worked so hard to protect and improve our beaches and keep our coast clean and safe. We hope that everyone visiting our stunning coastline will enjoy and cherish our beaches responsibly.

"Please make sure you make memories, not mess and take your litter home with you."

The Blue Flag is a world-renowned eco-label owned by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

For more than 30 years, Blue Flag has made an impact on water quality, safety, and environmental management.

It has also inspired environmental awareness through educational activities and promoting social responsibility.
