Are you a local community group or project with a passion for making positive changes to Penarth?

Groups and projects could receive grants as part of the Co-op's Local Community Fund (LCF).

You can apply to the Co-op for funding if your project:

1.   Creates opportunities for young people to be heard

2.   Helps protect local biodiversity or tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions

3.   Brings people together to access food

4.   Helps improve people's mental wellbeing

Be sure to submit your application by midnight on 12 June.

Cathays Compass and Cradle are two local charities that have been supported by the Co-op's Local Community Fund. Read more here about their journey.

If your project is awarded funding, you will partner with Co-op for one year to bring more members to support your cause.

When Co-op members buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes into their Co-op Membership account and the Co-op gives the same to support community organisations and local causes.

Co-op membership helps support Co-op's national charity partners and Local Community Fund causes. See www.coop.co.uk/membership for more information.

Co-op members will continue to help thousands of grassroots community projects through the Local Community Fund by selecting a cause to support.

Since 2016 Co-op members have raised more than £85m for over 30,000 projects.

You can find out more information about Co-op's Local Community Fund and how to apply here.
