Gwyrddio Penarth Greening (GPG) are holding an open Zoom meeting tomorrow (Thursday 17 September). It aims to update residents on the various "Penarth 2020" environmental projects the group is running.

On 30 January 2020, GPG organised a highly-attended community event to discuss how we can address the climate emergency at a local level.

Almost 100 people attended to discuss ideas for what we can do in Penarth to tackle environmental challenges, and what our priorities should be.

According to the GPG's website, the key themes that emerged during the evening included developing:

  • A Green Directory for Penarth
  • A Library of Things (eg Benthyg)
  • Community renewable energy projects
  • Community planting/ gardening / growing (eg Share Cardiff), edible
Penarth, extend community orchard and explore tree planting space

As well as interest in topics such as reusing, recycling, waste, travel and local food.

The virtual meeting tomorrow will provide updates on the progress made on each of these strategies and provide a forum for any novel ideas.

It will begin at 7:30 PM. The meeting details are as follows:
