The Penarth Business Group in collaboration with ShopAppy.com and Vale of Glamorgan Council is encouraging local residents to (re)discover the magic and spellbinding experiences they can haveclose by for October half term for Halloween.

Local businesses will be welcoming local customers and families to the trick or treat trail to find a hidden spell in shop windows to unlock discounts and special offers online on ShopAppy and in store as well as free sweets and treats for children to be collected at Umpa Lumpa Sweet Shop starting October 25th to 30th.

Angelina Hall, Chair of the Penarth Business Group said: "We are excited to be celebrating the magic that is on our doorstep this Halloween and wish everyone luck in discovering the treats that await them."

Zero Penarth said: "This year more than ever we all need some magic in our lives so we hope that our community gets involved. We'd love to see the kids dressed up and enjoying the trail! Everyone joining in will see the many lovely things they can buy, see and do in Penarth Town Centre."

Residents can collect their trail map Monday - Saturday from Glass by Design on Station Approach between the hours of 10am - 5pm Monday - Saturday.

Customers participating in this event are welcome to join in on a range of magical activities that will be taking place in shops throughout Penarth during this week.

Free face painting will be available for children participating in the trail outside of Foxy's Deli on Saturday October 31st.

In addition a £50 voucher to spend in Funky Monkey will be up for grabs for customers who share a picture in their Halloween fancy dress in Spooktacular Windsor Arcade on social media between Saturday 23rd October – Sunday 31st October.

Tag in @valetowncentres @shopappyuk using hashtags #SpooktacularVTC #shoplocalpenarth #ShopAppyHalloween on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook so get snapping to be in with a chance of winning the prize.

Dr Jackie Mulligan, Founder of ShopAppy explained: "ShopAppy is all about encouraging footfall and local spend. After an arduous 20 plus months, we hope the trail will encourage locals to make the most of what they have nearby and enjoy some quality time with friends and family. We want to live in magical towns, not ghost towns, so this Halloween shop local."

The campaign is being funded by Vale of Glamorgan Council in collaboration with ShopAppy.com and Penarth Business Group.
