TODAY'S PENARTH AREA EVENTS:

Do women have to be naked to get into museums? At the Pavilion

Have women been ignored by Art History? In New York in the spring of 1985, seven women launched the Guerrilla Girls in response to the Museum of Modern Art's exhibition 'An International Survey of Recent Painting and Sculpture', whose list of 165 artists included only 13 women. The group's most famous poster posed the question 'Do women have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum?'. This talk considers the changing position of women in art history and looks at examples of female artists who have pushed the boundaries of this male-dominated discipline. Ticket price includes a glass of wine following the lecture. Doors open at 6.30 pm, the lecture starts at 7.00 pm.

Mum and I Workshop at Florist 64:

Bring your Mum (or someone whose like a Mum!) and join Julian and Craig on this fun workshop as we teach you both to make a stunning flower arrangement in a glass bowl. At the end you may want to exchange bowl arrangements or simply keep your own fabulous creations. Makes a perfect Mothers Day Gift! NB. The price includes all materials and flowers including glass bowls. Refreshments and cakes will be provided. Please book for 2 participants at the checkout. £45 Each. 7 pm - 9 pm.

Film Lent Course: The Way

Join us as we use the film 'The Way' to explore Lenten themes. This challenging and thought-provoking film and the accompanying notes will guide us as we discuss and reflect upon the themes covered in the film.
