A special Songs of Praise was held in Bethesda, Dinas Powys to coincide with St David's Day celebrations.

The emphasis was on traditional hymns which were sung with great enthusiasm.

Included was 'Be still for the presence of the Lord', 'Onward Christian Soldiers', Guide me O Thou Great Redeemer', and 'We rest on Thee our Shield'.

Two hymns were sung in Welsh under the guidance of Derek Griffith of Llandough Baptist Church. They were 'Calon Lan' and 'I bob yn Syn Fyllon.'

The night was concluded with delicious Cawl prepared by Mike and Val Grove and Thelma Foote.

The event was such a success that more 'Songs of Praise' are to be arranged.

Special guest of honour was John Fanshaw chair of the Community Council.
