Everyone who cares about their town has opinions about the direction that town should be going in. Penarth Nub News serves as a platform upon which you can voice those opinions.

This morning, the Penarth Civic Society bemoans the Council's decision to replace Victorian paving slabs on Church Road with tarmac.

We are all aware that many of our pavements are in urgent need of attention.

But it is unacceptable that our Victorian paving in the conservation area is being replaced by tarmac.

Conservation Area Consent is required for any such change and the Penarth Civic Society would certain oppose this.

The Society has written to the Vale Council today to request that this practice stops until we can have a discussion about appropriate replacements for our Victorian pavements.

Nub News approached the Vale of Glamorgan Council for comment and is awaiting a response
