Two neighbouring trees have been felled on Windsor Road, one outside M & Co and the other near the zebra crossing opposite Grape Tree.

A Vale Council spokesperson told Nub News why these measures were necessary: "These two trees have been removed as unfortunately they had serious cases of ash dieback.

"That is a disease the affects the structure of ash trees. Once it reaches an advanced stage, the tree has to be felled as there is no cure for the infection."
