News in brief: Road workers fix tactile paving and potholes

By Alex Jones

7th May 2021 | Local News

Road workers hired by the Vale of Glamorgan Council are currently replacing the tactile paving on Stanwell Road and connecting streets

The studs on the slabs had become worn down. Those with impaired sight will now be able to alert themselves to upcoming crossings with greater ease.

No roads are currently closed but pedestrians were being diverted.

Repair teams were yesterday spotted resurfacing areas further down the road at Railway Junction, where the tarmac had become considerably cracked, potholed and uneven.

Elsewhere, workers on Uppercliff Drive and Uppercliff Close were seen repairing potholes.

These roads had been significantly potholed for many months, posing a danger to cyclists and the risk of damage to vehicles.
