A local woman who has been inspired by the people she helps care for is to 'brave the shave' and have her locks shorn.

Mandy Jenkins is the administration manager at MHA Morel Court, in Penarth and will be doing the good deed later this year to raise funds for the home's amenity fund which is used to organise trips and activities for residents

The shave will take place at the home, on Wednesday, 2 November with residents and members of her family coming to show their support.

A JustGiving page has been set up for donors, with a target of £1,500. To donate visit here

Mandy said: "Since I joined Morel Court 18 months ago, I have met some wonderful residents who make me smile and laugh every day.

"I wish to raise money to help fund the wonderful activities that are organised for these residents so we can continue to see the smiles and laughter

"I am not nervous at all, and even though some of the residents have said don't do it, I am looking forward to it.

"To be honest one of the main reasons for doing it is so I don't have to keep dyeing my hair and covering the greys!

"I have never done anything like this before, but I am confident we will smash the target set in place."
