Man who bit nurse in Penarth hospital is jailed

A man who bit a nurse at Penarth's Llandough Hospital during a violent assault has been jailed for 13 months.

Awdear Khaledi, 23, appeared for sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court yesterdya (Tuesday, 13 September).

Earlier he had admitted assault which happened when he was a patient at the hospital in May 2020 and objected to being put on a ward where people were suspected of having Covid-19.

His demand to be moved led to a clash with a number of nurses, who he took a violent attitude towards. A female nurse was bitten.

Khaledi admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Llandough Hospital and also an offence in Leeds in March 2021 when he assaulted two police officers and a nurse working at a police station by spitting at them.
