Two local brothers, Teilo (10) and Isaac (12), are on day 9 of their 10-day marathon fundraiser in support of the Llandough Dementia Ward where their grandad is currently being cared for.

They hoped to raise around £250 when they started but have smashed through this target and on day 9 they have managed to raise over £1000.

The boys have run 2.6 miles each days in honour of all the NHS staff, but particularly those who care for their Grandpa Paul.

The money they have raised will be first be used to purchase a music entertainment system that will enable the gentlemen and staff to listen to their favourite tracks and participate in singalongs and karaoke.

Michelle, the boys' mother, said: ''We are delighted to tell you that your support and generosity means that the boys have exceeded their target and are on course to raise over £1000.

''We've just spoken to East 14 Ward at Llandough Hospital and they are as excited as us!

''We've now decided with the additional funds to book Mobi Game - sports-based games sessions.

''Thank you so much for your generous contributions. You have really helped inspire the boys to 'keep going'.''
