The Vale council has warned of localised disruption to waste collection as Penarth and the county celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

A statement from the council said: "It is likely that there will be some localised disruption due to road closures and events being planned to mark the Jubilee.

"If your black bag, recycling or food waste is not collected please leave this out and our crews will return to the affected areas on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5."

Delays for the collection of Green Waste due to "significant staffing pressures" also mean this service has been suspended from June 2 to June 5. The statement continues: "If your green waste is currently at the kerbside, please take it back in if you are able to. Our crews will return on your next scheduled collection day.

"We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause."
