James Sommerin Restaurant is offering a one-off VE day afternoon tea special in Penarth amidst the temporary closure of the eatery.

The Sommerin team have been very busy throughout the coronavirus lockdown prepping meals for NHS staff and key workers in the local area.

However, they will be returning to service briefly this weekend to commemorate VE day.

They said on Facebook: ''Even during these times, it is important we remember our past and the amazing people who gave everything.

''So finding a way to help people celebrate VE day seemed like a great idea! Which is why we are offering a one-off, limited run of a special VE Day Afternoon Tea & a Sunday Roast. Time and quantities are limited so do be quick.''

You can find a link to this special treat here.

They are also offering a Sunday Roast which you can find in the link above too.
