Irresponsible motorists are racing through temporary no-entry signs endangering the public. The irresponsible behaviour is occurring along Mill Road Dinas Powys in the vicinity of St Peter's Church.

Local Community Councillor Richard Grigg said that such behaviour was extremely reckless. He called on the Vale County Council and the Police to take effective action.

He said, "Along with other Plaid Community Councillors we have witnessed hugely irresponsible driving. From comments we have received this practice is almost commonplace. The temporary one-way system is due to the work to replace gas mains.

''The contractors will be working in Dinas Powys for some time. Residents must not be exposed to such hazards. Motorists are also travelling at excessive speed along the alternative residential roads."

Fellow Plaid Councillor Chris Franks said, "There are clearly no entry signs in place. Plaid considers that it is essential that the police and the County Council take urgent action to ensure this risky driving is stopped.

''The public services have enough on their plates at present without having to deal with any crashes.

''Mill Road is a notorious race track at the best of time. Now it has become even worse. We are looking for early effective action to protect the public."
