Penarth's award-winning independent bookshop Griffin Books has another bumper month of events coming up in November.

Fiction lovers are in for a treat as the bestselling author of Rotter's Club and Middle England Jonathan Coe comes to Penarth Pier Pavilion on Tuesday 5 November to discuss his latest novel The Proof of my Innocence. Later that week on Thursday 7, comes the launch of local legend Tessa Hadley's new novel, The Party, about two sisters coming-of-age in post-war Bristol.

The shop will also be commemorating Remembrance Day with a special event. Vale of Glamorgan resident Martin Wade will be giving a talk about his new book On Dragons' Wings, which details the history of the No. 614 (Vale of Glamorgan) Squadron, Royal Auxiliary Air Force in it's centenary year. As a current serving member of the Squadron, Martin is well-placed to tell its fascinating story.

Finally, the month of events will end with an exciting evening with the one and only Matt Haig on 16 November, whose latest novel The Life Impossible is a story of hope and the life-changing power of a new beginning. This event is almost sold out so make sure you don't hang around if you'd like a ticket!

For more information about all these events and to book, visit www.griffinbooksevents.co.uk or email the shop on [email protected]. You can also follow Griffin Books on social media @griffinbooksuk.
