There were no lie-ins for the crew from Penarth RNLI this morning after they were tasked with helping out a broken-down boat today.

Shortly before 9 am this morning, Penarth's RNLI Atlantic lifeboat was launched to assist a broken down fishing boat approximately two nautical miles east of Cardiff.

An alongside tow was established and the vessel taken to safety in Cardiff Bay.

The two people on board were safe and well and the lifeboat returned to station shortly after 10am.

This is the second call out for the team in 2020 having been stood down from a false alarm call last Sunday evening.
