Dinas Powys Community Council is toi upgrade a number of defibrillator boxes in the area.

There are around five defibrillators across Dinas Powys in public areas, including Cardiff Road at Nica, Castel Court Dental Practice, Murchfield Community Centre Sunnycroft Lane, 10 Station Road opposite the Star and the Athletic Club on the common.

Also there's one at Eastbrook station controlled by Transport for Wales.

The cases of the defibrillators now need replacing and the community council has agreed to provide more robust cases. It is also inspecting the defibs and will upgrade as necessary.

Community Councillor Chris Franks said: "We want to ensure that all the equipment is in good working order in the event of a medical emergency."
