Cardiff Bus have released details of changes to their services affecting Penarth ahead of the half marathon this Sunday.

Services 92 and 94 to Penarth/Barry from first bus to 12pm will divert in both directions between the city centre and Penarth.

Buses will start and end their journeys at their normal stop at Central Square and will follow the normal route to Cornwall Street then run along North Clive Street, Clive Street, Ferry Road, A4232 Ely Link Road, Leckwith Interchange, Leckwith Hill, Llandough, Redlands Road, Foxglove Rise, Bramble Rise, Cowslip Drive and Pill Street.

Buses from Penarth to Cardiff will run the reverse of the diversionary route. Penarth Road will not be served during this time.

Gareth Stevens, Operations and Commercial Director at Cardiff Bus said: "We are alerting customers travelling in and around Cardiff during October 6 to potential route changes which could affect their journeys during the day.

"There will be a number of diversions and bus stop changes in place to ensure our customers can continue to travel throughout the city with minimal disruption to their journey.

"We'd like to wish all those taking part in the half marathon good luck, and remind anyone with queries about travel to visit our website by clicking the red button below or our Twitter and Facebook pages for up to date travel information."

The race starts in the shadow of Cardiff Castle before runners head down past Cardiff City Stadium on the way to Penarth.

Penarth Marina is the next location before runners cross the barrage into the heart of Cardiff Bay.

Participants run right through the heart of the Bay, taking in the Norwegian Church and Wales Millennium Centre.

The course then heads towards the north of the city and runners will complete a loop of Roath Park Lake before a grandstand finish down the Edward the VII Avenue finishing straight.
