The Annual General meeting of Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern welcomed Christine Boston Chief Executive, Glamorgan Voluntary Services. Elected Officers include; Chair, John Fanshaw. Vice Chair, Chris Franks, Treasurer, Chris Bee, Wendy Bourton, Rob Crawley, Brian West, Keith Hatton, Alison Johns and Colin Turner.

DPVC provides a service to individuals, groups and organisations, the elderly and people with disabilities. Services include running a wellbeing scheme, providing transport to supermarkets and events. The mini bus / ambulance is used by organisations such as the RVS and the Wednesday Afternoon Club.

Residents are transported to the Medical Centre. The charity organises with the help of volunteers a Community Club.

Depend is published a twice year.

Christine Boston spoke of the benefits of volunteering and the challenges ahead. Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) is an independent charity and has a flourishing membership of voluntary and community organisations active in the Vale of Glamorgan.
