Platinum Jubilee events in Penarth
To help you celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, we have created a round-up of events in Penarth to keep you busy over the four-day bank holiday weekend.

Here's what's coming up
Wednesday afternoon (14:00 – 16:00): Penarth Library Queen's Jubilee Tea Party
We're celebrating the Queen's Jubilee with a Welcome Wednesday Special Jubilee Tea Party!
Come along for tea, cakes, games and chatter.

Thursday evening (18:00): Queen's Jubilee Picnic and Beacon Lighting
Sully and Lavernock Community Council invite you to a picnic at the Pavilion Field for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The picnic will take place on Thursday, June 2 from 18:00.
A beacon lighting starts at 21:45.
Bring your favourite snacks and drinks - there will be traditional games on the field.

Thursday evening (21:30): Penarth Beacon Lighting and Fireworks
Taking place on June 2 at 21:30, the Cliff Top beacon which overlooks the Bristol channel will be lit by the mayor of Penarth and followed by a fireworks display.
The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
This community event will mark the start of the special four-day UK bank holiday weekend.
Sunday afternoon (12:00 – 15:00): Jubilee Picnic, Cosmeston Estate

Sunday morning (11:30 – 14:30): Jubilee & Pentecost Celebration Picnic
A Jubilee and Pentecost picnic at All Saints Church in Victoria Square in Penarth.
James Sommerin, the owner of the Michelin star restaurant Home on Stanwell Road, will be present with a food stall for people who prefer to not bring their own picnic.
There will be a bouncy castle and members of the church's youth group will be setting up a face painting station.
Guests will also be welcome to take part in a Jubilee-themed fancy dress competition.
Tea and coffee will be provided for free as well as a paying bar for other drinks.
The picnic will start at 11:30 with a 14:30 finishing time. All Saints Church will be open for people to sit inside and use the toilets.
Feel free to bring picnic blankets and chairs.
