The people of Penarth (and a few elsewhere) have donated £7,000 to Piotr Skoczylas - the pedalling, baking and brewing resident behind Stol Coffee - so he can sustain his business.

Raised within just 12 days from 22 January, the sum will be spent on a state-of-the-art, custom made tricycle; a graphic designer; a videographer; and almost £500 worth of other equipment.

"I've been overwhelmed by the response. It's been so wonderful and meaningful - there's been so much generosity," Piotr tells Nub News.

"It's amazing that people believe in the same things that I do and want to spread kindness and positivity to make communities and then the world a better place."

Stol Coffee has become synonymous in Penarth with community spirit. Anyone who has met Piotr will attest to his obsession with spreading togetherness in the community.

'Meaningful relationships' is Piotr's mantra, and it is evident that he has forged his fair share in the town since moving here almost three years ago.

"Coffee and cookies is just the way to get there. I love them, but I just want to keep doing the meaningful stuff," he continues.

"It's just such a wonderful, fuzzy feeling that people believe in these things as well."

The following quotes are taken from some of the over 200 donors to support the cause:

"You bring joy to my brothers life."

"Peter is a real asset for Penarth. He deserves the best, so does Penarth."

"You're such an inspiration, we need more of you in this world! Thank you for making me smile and showing me there's always a positive."

"Piotr is the personification of positivity and his coffee and cookies spread that with love!"

"Stol coffee represents so much positivity and is a valuable member of the community, inspiring and creating and supporting. Fantastic coffee and amazing cookies and incredible conversations."

This is the latest in a series of wins for Piotr and his business.

In December, he used Nub News to appeal for a new workspace.

A local family had been letting Piotr their garage for six months, but that period had drawn to a close.

'I need to thank the family, who do not want to be named, for all they have done. They have made all this possible."

After issuing a widely shared appeal, Piotr was last week offered a new space from which to brew his coffee and bake his cookies.

"I found a new garage because people spread the word. After the article in Penarth Nub News I received a lot of messages and I just want to highlight how generous and helpful people were.

"After a month, I was able to find something in the town centre."

While this article was being written, Piotr's current tricycle broke again.

Pearson's Garage came to the rescue and fixed it for free, as they have previously.
