Morel Court in Penarth has shared the fantastic news that all of their residents test results for Coronavirus have come back negative.

They said: ''As you are aware on Monday all of our residents were tested for COVID-19. We are ecstatic to report that all results for our residents have come back negative and our residents would like to share this good news with you.''

The residential care home has been keen to ensure the testing of their residents and staff and, at the end of last week, they confirmed that all staff and residents would be tested in line with new Welsh Government guidelines.

Two weeks ago they started a petition to urge the Welsh Government to start testing all staff and residents in care homes as a matter of urgency.

The Government made changes to ensure that this was carried out in care homes nationwide.

Morel Court is owned by the charity group MHA which also owns Ty Gwyn, where the first case of Covid-19 in Penarth was identified.

Their results have not yet been shared publicly.
