Although the parks have reopened across the Vale of Glamorgan, public compliance in Cosmeston County Park has already proven to be problematic.

Cllr Lis Burnett expressed her distress after social distancing and lockdown rules appeared to be broken over the weekend in the popular outdoor spot.

She said: ''I have photos of the tape that has been ripped off boardwalks and play areas in Cosmeston and of a family having a BBQ.

''Cars have blocked emergency access and gates have been broken. If lockdown rules are abused we will have to close again. Beyond frustrated.''

The decision to open parks was made last week by the Vale of Glamorgan Council after pressure mounted to reopen them.

Members of the public have also commented on the old Harvester (Ego) car-park being used instead of the blocked off Cosmeston parking.

Under current Welsh government guidelines, exercise must be taken locally. To find out the latest information please click here.
