Technical Operator - Cardiff - Starting ASAP - 42 hours - Shifts including nights

Your new company You will be working for a large utilities company, working on a Cardiff site with requirements to travel to additional sites as and when needed. Your new role

  • Form part of a team that will be responsible for the 24-hour operation and maintenance of sludge treatment and associated plant,
  • Work to agreed standards to ensure the organisation meets its health & safety, contractual, regulatory, operational and financial targets.
  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of all operational processes associated with sludge treatment including sludge screening, sludge imports, centrifuges, odour control, Cambi process, water treatment, steam boilers, CHP plant, digestion process, return liquors, thermally hydrolysed sludge dewatering and sludge export. This will also include shadowing and assisting external maintenance engineers.
What you'll need to succeed
  • As a Technical Operator shift cover, you will be expected to work 16 shifts per month organised and arranged through your line manager. Shifts will comprise of 12 hours days or nights; you will also be required to cover or support at one of the other Advanced Digestion sites.
  • Demonstrate ownership of process problems & manage the decision-making process outside of the conventional working day.
  • You must pass a DBS and Driving Licence check.
What you'll get in return You'll join a great team for an initial period of 3 months and earn an hourly rate of £17.77ph. Additional rates are offered for weekends and overtime shifts.
